An alltime favourite with a magic sound and magic names coming with it: the B3, the leslie speaker, the Vox, the Farfisa, Jon Lord of Deep Purple and Whitesnake, Ray Manzarek of The Doors, A Whiter Shade of Pale (which I loved to play as a teenager on my Hohner E-Orgel.), Keith Emerson knifing the organ and so many others. I’m sure there are some organ purist that will find fault with it, just like guitar purist and other musicians can find fault with virtual versions of their instrument.īut for me in my music production, and for the end consumer…I highly doubt they will be disappointed or not be convinced by the sounds here.Aaah, the Hammond Organ. I give it a 5 out of 5 subs…I really think it’s just “got it” so to speak.

I told a friend after I first installed and played this…I wish I knew how to play…and this instrument made me want to find a course or something! It will happen lol.īut yeah, I personally don’t see what else a person could look for in an organ library/instrument…I love the tone, look, and tweakability of Vintage Organs

I can’t stand playing an ugly virtual instrument!īut the interface is also very functional, easy to navigate and tweak your instruments, plus pretty much all of it is midi learnable. The interface is sexy…and yes, for me that matters. If you’re looking for a dedicated organ instrument, I can’t say I’ve tried everything out there…but I’ve tried a few and right now…I’m really loving this here. These instruments cover it all, from mellow to harsh, and for my needs, they hit it right on the money.

They are already pre optimized with Kontakt’s background loading, so switching instruments is quick. The truth of the matter is that it’s very easy to find what you want in the presets, but it’s also fun to pull the drawbars, flip switches, buttons, etc…to dial in your own style and sound. They also cover some of that old school, nostalgic sound that comes from the transistor organs…many people will think of “The Doors”, I just think of old records! I was wrong….the tone of the instruments in this library strike an instant memory to the various places and times when I’ve heard organs.įrom the up beat, rolling sound of the gospel organs to the barking drive of the organs heard in rock and blues…it’s there. No joke…I had people asking me when I was going to check them out…and sure I knew I wanted to, but I was of the impression…”an organ is an organ”. Everything I judge, I do so based on MY experience and reference of the sound.įrom church, to records and albums…I have an idea of what organs sound like to me…and let me just say that these sound absolutely amazing. Look, I won’t pretend to be an organ expert…or an expert of any kind.

You get tons of control over the amps, drive, drawbars, percussion, vibrato, etc…of each instrument. The instruments in the library are the Hammond B3, C3, and M3, the Vox Continental II, and the FARFISA Compact.

Where B4II was a synth-based type of product, Vintage Organs is based on extensively sampled instruments.Īlso, they didn’t just go after the B3, but they went after 5 of the most classic organ sounds around. To the delight of many, they released a new library/instrument dedicated to that classic organ sound.īut it’s not just about the B3 this time….there’s a few others in the mixĪs the name states, it’s a library dedicated to vintage organ instruments. Many people still use and swear by their now discontinued B4II organ instrument. What’s up folks, time to checkout some new goodness from Native Instruments
